Types of Air preheater : There are two types of air preheaters for use in steam generators in thermal power stations:

1. Recuperative Air preheater
(a) Tubular Type Air pre heater
(i) Metallic recuperative
(ii) Ceramic recuperative
(b) Plate Type Air pre heater

2. Regenerative Air preheater
(a) Rotating-plate regenerative air preheaters (RAPH)
(b) Stationary-plate regenerative air preheaters .
